Why should poor children seek admission in private school where they get no mid-day meal and free books?

Make mass aware about education. Then they send their children to school. RTE must be compulsory. But the method used for it is absurd.

That is indeed a good question and requires us to think beyond conventional thinking...

 Your question is valid if we follow the old fashioned approach of considering the poor to be passive recipients of the state's largesse. The poor prefer pvt schools simply because they value quality education more than free meals. In fact parents chosing to pay for these schools are the greatest indication of of the quality of services provided by these schools.
